Every Monday my bots are triggered and are unleashed to crawl the web; gathering various and sundry data.

I sort my collected information into a few different pigeon holes, one of which is people in the news

Who’s in the News May 2019

The very top of the list is dominated by old white politicians.  Just sayin’…

however if you look at the list in total it represents an interesting cross section of people and professions.

Each week the list is different.  Each week Donald Trump is number one.  By allot.

If you have followed this blog you know that I am also tracking / predicting the potential Democratic 2020 nominee.

Seeing Pete Buttigieg up there with the big dogs is a little surprising to me – I can’t wait to run the numbers on the Dem 2020 project this week to see if Mayor Pete’s strength shows up there as well.

Additionally I cannot believe that Jussie Smollett is still lingering.  At the height of his scandal he was second only to Trump; but he’s made this list ever since.  His ten minutes should be over by now.  Please.

Three GOT cast members make the list this month as the series builds towards its conclusion.  Additionally Game of Thrones author R. R. Martin charts a solid #18 this week.

people in the news chart

At some point this month I plan on combining all my People in the News data since the first of the year and charting the rise and falls of individuals over time.

Stay tuned.
